We live in a world full of stimulation.
Screens.
Activities.
Sounds.
Plans.
Entertainment.
Extracurricular activities.
Constant movement.
And in the middle of all this, there are the children. 🌿
Children who are constantly being stimulated,
entertained,
and kept busy.
But perhaps there is something many of us have forgotten:
children don't always need more stimulation.
Sometimes, all they need is:
calm,
presence,
and someone who is truly there. 🌙
Not necessarily:
more things,
more expensive experiences,
or constant activity.
But an adult who:
listens,
sees them,
wonders with them,
and is willing to sit in the silence with them.
Perhaps that is also why so many adults feel uncomfortable with stillness.
Because silence between a child and an adult can open the door to something very real. ✨
Feelings.
Questions.
Uncertainty.
Closeness.
The need to be seen.
And perhaps many adults never truly learned this themselves.
They learned:
achievement,
speed,
stimulation,
and how to fill the empty space.
Not necessarily how to simply:
be together.
Perhaps that is why so many children grow up surrounded by:
noise,
screens,
and activities —
yet still feel alone inside. 💜
Because genuine presence is not about:
entertaining a child.
It is about:
meeting the child as a human being.
Perhaps that is exactly why quiet moments can mean so much.
A fire.
A conversation.
A walk.
A lap to curl up in.
A quiet space without an audience.
Because sometimes children don't need more impressions.
They simply need to feel:
“I am safe.
I am seen.
And I am enough just as I am.” 🌸
